In the Beginning...

So here I am, joining the blogging crowd... Personally, I'm not sure why anyone would be interested in my viewpoints on ANYTHING, but I'm glad to have a place to put 'em down nonetheless! I do try to stay current with worldly events, and think carefully before I come to conclusions. I do have a few areas that I'm undecided on, as to where I stand, so maybe we'll explore some of those in time.

First, though, let me welcome you, my reader(s?!). I know that we will have differences of opinion, and while I'm not especially concerned with being politically correct, per se, I do promise to be as respectful as possible in my writing, even if I do express an 'unpopular' opinion. As a believer in Christ, I feel that it is imperative to show that respect to other human beings, no matter where we stand on any given subject. So, let's begin!! :)

If you were to ask any of my friends about me, they'd say I'm introspective, thoughtful, very loyal, and a pretty decent singer. They'd also mention that I'm tall (I'm 5'10", but seem taller because I'm thin). I'm very interested in children and education, so there will be posts on that subject coming up, in addition to the usual politics, animals, family, etc. that women often blog about! One thing you WON'T see on here: posts about clothes shopping. I hate bothering with that, and get my clothes, shoes, and accessories online (usually eBay), so that's not a big thing in my life! Now, take me to a Lowes' or other home-improvement store, or a horse tack store, and I'm one happy girl!

I have four kids, but two are -fairly recently- out of the home. The other two are in high school and about to begin middle school, respectively. I have the pleasure of serving five cats, and I also have one horse (you'll be hearing a LOT about Cimarron!) and one rabbit (our family's newest-comer). We live in a nice neighborhood, with other regular, middle-class families around us, in North Carolina. This is the first time in many, many years that I've lived in a neighborhood rather than the countryside, and to be honest, I'm looking forward to the day when we can sell our house and get some acreage again. I'm on my third (!) marriage (which I'll discuss soon, I'm sure!), and finally got it right this time! My husband is considerably older than me, and decidedly NOT an animal person (his one flaw, IMHO), but is wonderful in many ways, and I'm quite happy!

So that's me in a nutshell, for the moment. Now that you have an idea of whom you're reading about, that will give you a wider picture of my thoughts and observations, etc. etc. See you again soon!
